You are quick to tag me when there is a problem but very slow to support – Ruggedman berates fans



Veteran Nigerian rapper, Ruggedman has taken to social media to berate his fans over their inability to show support. The rapper/activist said people are very quick to tag him on social media whenever there is a trending issue that needs to be amplified but the same set of people are slow to support him. Ruggedman said whenever he shares videos of people that have suffered some form of injustice, he gets as much as 20k views. He, however, noted that even after begging people to subscribe to his YouTube page he has barely managed to garner as much as a thousand followers.

The rapper’s post read in part ; “I post your trouble, go out of my way to help you out of it and get 20k views. I ask you to click link in my bio and subscribe to my You Tube channel and struggle to get 1k subscribers,.

Nollywood actress, Uche Ogbodo has taken to her instastory to rant about how fans treat Nigerian celebrities on social media.

According to the Enugu born movie star, Nigerian fans won’t like your pictures unless you do giveaway. She added that she wishes she was a star in America and not Nigeria.

In her words ; “Infact I wish I’m a star in America not Nigeria. Fans! If you don’t do giveaway, nobody likes your pictures. You are posting for yourself. I just hate it.”

EFCC Arrests Social Media Influencer, Four Others for Internet Fraud




The EFCC Lagos Zonal Office, has arrested five alleged internet fraudsters, including one Adedamola Adewale, a self-acclaimed social media influencer, for their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud.

The five suspects were apprehended in different areas of Lagos during a raid by operatives. While Adewale, 20, and his accomplice, Lamina Hamzat Ajibola, were arrested at the Agungi area of Lekki, Lagos State, the trio of Israel Onyebuchi, Emmanuel Olayode and Valentine Nwokorie were picked up at the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State. The arrest of Adewale and Ajibola was sequel to intelligence linking them to online fraudulent activities with two brothers, Lasisi Wasiu Adeleke and Lasisi Riliwan Adeniyi, who are at large. They were arrested at a four-bedroom duplex belonging to the two run-away fraudsters. Intelligence also linked them with  alleged flamboyant lifestyles.



During interrogation, Adewale, a self-acclaimed model, who goes by the username @adeherself on Instagram, confessed to being a  picker” in cyber crimes. He usually poses as a lady to hoodwink her foreign “preys". Items recovered from the suspects include two Toyota Camry 2009 model cars, and a sum of N9,000,000.00 (Nine Million Naira only), which was found in Adewale’s account. The other suspects;  Onyebuchi,  Olayode and  Nwokorie were  arrested for their alleged involvement in a romance scam.  They  were arrested during another raid, following a separate intelligence. Investigation revealed that Nwokorie  was posing  as a female American citizen and sending  photos as a porn star to defraud his victim while  Onyebuchi was  engaging  in a love scam as well as forging foreign cheques. Items recovered from the suspects include laptops and mobile phones. All the suspects will soon be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Data Rate Increase: A Deliberate Mechanism To Reduce Social Media Influence?

I am convinced that the data rate increase ordered by Buhari through NCC is deliberately meant to reduce access to internet for ordinary Nigerians so that the influence of social media on Buhari and his co-travellers will be limited.

By my own estimation, at least 50% of internet users will not be able to subscribe regularly as before and at least 20% may stop subscribing entirely for social media purposes.

Boko Haram Threatens To Capture Buhari In New Video

In a new video by the Boko Haram, suspected members of the sect said they were plotting to capture President Muhammadu Buhari.
The footage, narrated in Hausa, is said to have been shot somewhere in Borno State, northeast Nigeria where the sect has its base. It showed suspected terrorists praying on what the narrator said is an Eid ground on Sallah day Monday.

The video was posted on YouTube Tuesday and the group said it was using it to send out message that it remained a strong force.
