Unlimited entertainment for subscribers as Glo TV takes off


A unique television streaming service, Glo TV, which can be accessed on the web, IOS and Android platformshas been unveiled by National Telecommunications Company, Globacom.

"Glo TV brings engaging, interactive and premium entertainment content through a rich bouquet of offerings including hundreds of live entertainment programmes, music, documentary, news, original shows, fashion, lifestyle, kiddies’ interest channels and over 1,000 videos as the company continues to partner with content providers to address the needs of more customers across social strata", said Globacom while unveiling Glo TV at a press conference in Lagos on Tuesday.

Glo customers can now enjoy watching and streaming YouTube videos while spending less courtesy of the Glo YouTube Data Bundle.

With the bundle, which is split into three packages, the 1 day, 7 days and 30 days packages, Glo customers are spoilt for choice with more value for less. Subscribe with N50 get 100MB worth of data for the 1 day Data plan, the 200MB worth of data costs N100 for 7 days, while subscribers will enjoy 500MB worth of data for 30 days for just N250.

Fashion trailblazers storm Glo-sponsored African Voices



Two trailblazers who are re-designing the African fashion landscape will this week be on African Voices Changemakers, the CNN magazine programme sponsored by the telecommunications service provider, Globacom.


They are Nkwo Onwuka, Creative Director of Abuja, Nigeria-based Nkwo Design Studios, and Rich Mnisi, Creative Director, Rich Mnisi, an exclusive label domiciled in South Africa.

Glo excites TV viewers with Super Story, Enakhe


National Telecommunications Operator, Globacom, has continued to excite television viewers with two television drama series, Super Story and Enakhe.

The company is Headline Sponsor of the two series currently running on primetime television. Super Story is shown on the network of African Independent Television (AIT) every Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) every Thursday from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Nigerian musician, two change activists on Glo-sponsored African Voices Compilation edition

The compilation edition of African Voices Changemakers, Globacom-sponsored magazine programme on CNN, airs this weekend. It will feature two Nigerians, ace musician Mr. Eazi and an equal-opportunity agent, Orondaam Otto, as well as South African beauty queen, Zozibini Tunzi.

Banku music exponent, songwriter and music star, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, will acquaint viewers with the story of how he pioneered Banku music, a collage of Nigerian rhythms and Ghanaian highlife.

Guinness partners Glo, champions responsible drinking on Evergreen Series platform Lagos, Nigeria

Foremost brewing company, Guinness Nigeria Plc., has partnered Nigeria’snational telecom operator, Globacom, in the second edition of its Evergreen Series. This edition,which featured King Sunny Ade(KSA) is a continuation of the unique tower of admiration Globacom launched last year to honour iconic African musicians who have made phenomenal contributions to the continent’s rich repertoire of music.
Part of the highlights of the event was the ‘Guinness Nigeria Responsible Drinking Pledge Board with the message “Be Smart. Don’t drink and drive”’, where celebrities and guests who graced the occasion pledged to responsible drinking by signing and writing their responsible drinking messages on the board.

Globacom yesterday dropped their Nollywood ambassadors with the exception of four people - Chioma Chukwuka, Ini Edo, Funke Akindele and Desmond Elliot. These four remain as Glo ambassadors for now while Ramsey Noah, Rita Dominic, Mike Ezuruonye, Monalisa Chinda, Nonso Diobi, Uche Jombo, Odunlade Adekola have been dropped. 
They've been told to go to the legal department of Globacom to pick  up a letter - a letter terminating their contract with the telecoms company.

Mobile Number Portability Launched Across Nigeria’s GSM Networks

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), on Monday launched Mobile Number Portability (MNP) across Nigeria’s GSM networks, enabling customers change their subscription to other mobile networks while retaining their mobile digits.
The MNP system makes it easy for telecom subscribers to migrate across networks in search of quality service without the fear of losing their mobile number, thereby driving competition, improved services and reduced tariff.
