The police have arrested one Umar Abubakar, the 10th gang member involved in the abduction of the wife of the Central Bank Governor, Margaret Emefiele, in September 2016.

Abubakar, aka Kiriwa, was reportedly arrested in Minna, Niger State, on December 9, 2016, by the IG Intelligence Response Team, according to a statement by the Force spokesman, Donald Awunah on Monday.

The Lagos State Police Command says it has discovered a fake embassy operating in Lagos where many innocent members of the public had allegedly been defrauded.

It was gathered that policemen attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) had swooped on the ‘embassy’ and arrested two Chinese and two Nigerians.

A fake female soldier allegedly arrested with bombs a few weeks ago in Abuja, was tried in court on Friday. The lady identified as Rose John was also arrested for parading herself as an army major with the name 'Juliana Gumel'.

Luck has run out on four members of a robbery gang who allegedly break shops in the Alaba International Market, Lagos State.

Punch Metro learnt that the modus operandi of the syndicate was to destroy padlocks of their target shops by pouring acid on them.

It was gathered that the suspects –Tochukwu Akorisa, Ndubuise Egwuatuonwu, Ifeanyi Eze and Aboi Rufus – had attacked a warehouse in the market, stealing 427 cartons of electric bulbs valued at N19.1m.

A commercial tricyclist in Owerri, the Imo State capital, and an Abuja-based trader have been caught by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) officials at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos with 6.390kg of substances that tested positive for heroin.

One of them, Cajetan Chinedu Egwin, was arrested on arrival from Kigali, Rwanda; the other, King Sunday, was nabbed on arrival from Nairobi, Kenya.

The drug with an estimated street value of N575 million was hidden in their luggage.
Egwin, 32, was caught with 3.900kg of heroin and Sunday, 38, was found with 2.490kg of heroin

A suspected fraudster, Ekperebuike Akadonye, has been arrested by the police for allegedly parading himself as the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on the Internet.
The 29-year-old suspect, who was apprehended by the Inspector-General Special Intelligence Response Team, also allegedly defrauded a Saudi Arabia-based doctor, identified as Hassan Alkahallaf, to the tune of $10,000.

Alkahallaf was said to have earlier been defrauded by Nigerians via the Internet on two occasions, while efforts to recover the funds had proved abortive.

Punch Metro gathered that Akadonpe got Alkahallaf into his trap when he introduced himself as the IG and promised to help the doctor recover his loses.

Dad Arrested For Breaking Son’s Arm After Boy Goes Missing

The police in Lagos State have arrested a man, Adeyemi Adekunle, for allegedly brutalising his eight-year-old son in the Dopemu area of the state.
It was learnt that Adekunle, who was arrested by the Dopemu Police Division on Monday, allegedly fractured the boy’s two arms for missing from home for two days.

It was gathered that the boy, whose name was not disclosed by the police, had gone missing on Saturday from their apartment on Kolawole Street, Dopemu.

Lagos To Arraign Iba Monarch Abductors This Morning

The Lagos State Government will today arraign the key suspects arrested in connection with the kidnap of Oniba of Iba, Oba Yishau Goriola Oseni before a Lagos High Court in Igbosere.

The State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem, in a statement yesterday, said the four suspects – Duba Furejo, Ododomo Isaiah, Reuben Anthony and Yerin Fresh would be arraigned before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo for offences of conspiracy to murder, robbery and kidnapping.

Over 25 Nigerians Arrested In Kenya Over Visa Validity Issues

Department of Immigration Services in Kenya revealed via social media that over 25 Nigerians were arrested today in Kasarani, Roysambu, Mirema area of Nairobi, for being in the country illegally after their visa validity elapsed.

They encouraged their citizens to give reports of Nigerians living around their areas, alleging that some stay as groups in one house.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old suspect, Tayo Adeyemi, who confessed to have been hired to kill a female hotel lodger in the Alakija, Satellite Town area of the state.
Adeyemi, who hails from Kwara State, told Punch that he was arrested by the police after he sneaked into the hotel, White House, and demanded that his target, simply known as Rosemary, had sex with him so he would spare her life.

3 Suspected Rapists Arrested For Impregnating 14-Year-Old teenager

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three men for allegedly raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl in the Agric, Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
It was learnt that the suspects – Kingsley Oke, Henry Osadere and Francis Ekwe – were arrested in the Majidun, Ikorodu area of Lagos State, before they were transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja.

It was gathered that the suspects, who lived in the same area with the parents of the teenager, identified only as Ijeoma, allegedly raped the girl in August 2016, after the mother went for a vigil.

Transgender woman caught recording 18 year old woman in Target changing room

A transgender woman, 43-year-old Shauna Patricia Smith has been accused of taking photos of another woman while she was changing clothes inside a dressing room at a Target store in southeast Idaho. The Bonnevile County Sheriff's Office said that Smith is in custody on a felony video voyeurism charge. 
Police said, on Monday, an 18 year old woman saw someone taking pictures of her while she was inside a changing room at the Target in Ammon.
