Very Informative article i saw online, it is indeed an eye opener...............

American Secretary of states, John Kerry last week criticized the postponement of Nigerian elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the grounds of the ongoing insurgency in Nigeria’s North East region, calling it a political interference by the government to impede the democratic process using the insurgency as an excuse.

Kerry’s comments regarding the elections, especially given how quickly after the announcement he made that comment, makes one wonder when the US became interested in such a minor issue as the bureaucratic decision by INEC to move the elections forward by just a few weeks. The desperate and curious tone of Kerry’s response fuels the suspicion that the US is funding the opposition APC and arming them in preparation for a post-election conflict.

Yesterday, the Senate held an investigative meeting over missing crude oil revenue.

In his opening remarks, Ahmed Makarfi, Chairman of the Senate committee on Finance, explained that the meeting was dedicated to the issue of unremitted revenue by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). He recalled that the last hearing in December 2013 was suspended to allow the involved parties to reconcile the figures.

Two ministers [most likely, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Diezani Allison-Madueke] had the permission to be absent due to ill health. Nevertheles, the Committee expects them to appear next week.

Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, CBN Governor, stated that the NNPC shipped $67 billion worth of crude oil, but what came to the CBN after all reconciliation stands at $47 billion.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much. Tonight, more than 200 years after a former colony won the right to determine its own destiny, the task of perfecting our union moves forward. It moves forward because of you. It moves forward because you reaffirmed the spirit that has triumphed over war and depression, the spirit that has lifted this country from the depths of despair to the great heights of hope, the belief that while each of us will pursue our own individual dreams, we are an American family and we rise or fall together as one nation and as one people.
