Mr President and his impeachment battle with the House of Reps

It has become obvious that the presidency is no longer comfortable with the threats by lawmakers and other Nigerians to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan over budget implementation and incapacitation.
This has stirred up anger in the camp of the presidency as it has ordered the lawmakers to stop the anthem of impeachment.
Briefing newsmen in Abuja, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Communication, Dr. Doyin Okupe, stated that every disagreement should not lead to impeachment threat.

President Goodluck Jonathan fires back" i will be the most praised President"

President Goodluck Jonathan said yesterday he would prove critics of his administration wrong by 2013 when the dividends of new policies introduced would begin to manifest.
Jonathan said this while declaring open the 52nd Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Abuja.
He said he was the most criticised President in the world at the moment because his critics failed to understand that the country’s current challenges predated his administration.

Widow commits suicide in Ibadan

A 50-year-old widow, Juliana Oluwafemi, was found on Monday hanging from  a tree near  the Odo-Ona River in Ibadan.
The woman, who was said to have resided at   Apata Elere area of  Ibadan, allegedly committed suicide by hanging.
The News Agency of  Nigeria (NAN) reports that the corpse of  Oluwafemi, who was also known as Iya Iyanu, was discovered  at about 8:am.

Fuel Marketters go on strike, NNPC responds

This was the sight that i saw as i stepped out of ma house today en route town, unknown to me this fuel marketers have gone on strike, i was so mad, at least they should have informed us, now 10 liters of fuel sells for N2,500 in Abuja, well NNPC has responded to the strike, this is what they have to say,

Police drop charge of manslaughter against female banker-yinka Johnson

As court grants her bail over traffic offence
LAGOS—Contrary  to claims by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, that a female banker, Mrs Yinka Johnson, crushed one of its officials to death while driving against traffic last Friday on Lekki/Ajah Expressway, the police, apparently satisfied from their investigation that she did not commit the crime, only charged her for driving against traffic, thereby confirming Vanguard’s story that she was exonerated on the charge.

Hon Farouk Lawan Stopped At Airport By SSS From Traveling Abroad

The suspended Chairman of the House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee on the Monitoring of the Fuel Subsidy regime, Hon. Farouk Lawan, was Tuesday night barred from traveling out of the country at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
Lawan, who is currently under investigation for collecting $500,000 from the Chairman, Zenon Petroleum & Gas Ltd, Mr. Femi Otedola, to doctor the report of the House ad hoc committee, was scheduled to board an Emirates Airline flight en route to Saudi Arabia to perform the lesser Hajj when he was stopped by operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) at the airport and prevented from leaving the country.
