Abuja Airport Reopens After Three-month Lockdown

The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Saturday reopened with limited service after nearly three months of shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

The airport also witnessed strict compliance to other safety measures aimed at curtailing the spread of the virus.

The country’s airports and airspace were shut in March by government as part of efforts to contain the COVID-19 outbreak.
Journalists covering the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 were led on dry run test from Lagos to Abuja to witness firsthand the reopening of the aviation sector.

The checks for COVID-19 safety protocols and screening were carried out on passengers at the departure lounge.

The seats, which were usually crowded, have been rearranged in compliance with the social distancing rule.

Inscriptions to further guide passengers, such as “do not use this seat”, “keep your distance”, were placed on seats.

Police Arrest Benue Yahoo Boys In Abuja (Photos)

Police authorities in Abuja, smashed a syndicate that specialised in robbing bank customers by swindling them of their Automatic Teller Machine, ATM, cards and pins, with the leader saying they got their ‘business’ idea from reading newspapers.

According to vanguard the suspects, who were identified as David Wuese, Chika Okenyi, Omotayo Bamidele and Akura Godwin, were apprehended following complaints from members of the public to the Inspector General Police, Ibrahim Idris, who deployed his operatives at the Special Intelligence Response Team, IRT, to trail and arrest the suspects.
Sources at Force Headquarters disclosed members of the syndicate were trailed to Enugu, Benue and Nassarawa states, where they were arrested and over 70 ATM cards recovered from them. A source said the suspects confessed during interrogations that they normally steal the ATM cards and pins while pretending to assist customers solve issues at ATM points.

According to the information shared by Yusuf,Khadija, the little girl that was kidnapped by a woman in Kuje recently has been found dead.Her corpse was found last Saturday under Gwagwalada bridge. Below is what he wrote..

'Our little baby sister, our beautiful princess, was found dead last Saturday under the Gwagwalada   bridge. May Allah al-Wadud, ar-Rahman take His little Green Bird

The leader of Utako Community, Abuja, Alhaji Abdullahi Isha, has cried out to the police over the influx of sex hawkers into the community.

He lamented that the presence of the prostitutes had also attracted men of shady characters to the community.

Isah, who said this during the Federal Capital Territory Eminent Persons Forum organised by the police on Tuesday in Abuja, called on the FCT Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Mustafa, to come to the rescue of his community.

Abuja Hospital Abandons Accident Victim For Hours Over Inability To Pay N3,500

An accident victim, James Omase, was reportedly refused medical attention for three hours on Saturday by the Kubwa General Hospital, Abuja over his inability to pay a N3, 500 bill, reports Punchng.

Omase, 20, was taken to the hospital around 6pm but the medical personnel refused to attend to him until around 9pm, when his employer showed up and paid the bill. He was riding a motorcycle along Arab Road, Kubwa, when another rider rammed into him, causing him to fall and sustain injuries.

The victim, who worked as a security guard in a residential building, lost two teeth and also sustained an injury on his upper lips, had bruises on his head, right upper arm and on both hands.

Police Sergeant Who Was Killed In A Shootout With Armed Robbers In Abuja Buried

Police Sergeant Felix Igbasanwho was killed during a gun battle with armed robbers in Abuja has been laid to rest. Late Felix was buried in his hometown Ode Aye Village Okitipupa LGA, Ondo state on Thursday October 24. His wife is heavily pregnant. What a loss.

May his soul rest in peace.

Diamond Bank Cleaner Steals N5.675m (Photo)

A cleaner, Peter Oko, has narrated how he stole N5.675 million from the New Nyanya branch of Diamond Bank, where he worked.

The 29 year-old stated that he took the keys to the vault, stole the money and hid it in a carton, which he took home after the close of work.

The money was however recovered by the police, which said that the suspect had been charged to court.

Sergeant Felix Igbasan died at about 4:00am after sustained multiple wounds during the gun battle.

Court Awards N5m To Airtel Customer Who Dragged Them To Court Over Messages

Justice Jude Okeke of an FCT High Court in Maitama, Abuja on Wednesday, slammed a fine of N5 million on Airtel Nig. Ltd for violation of customer’s right to privacy.

The plaintiff, Mr Emmanuel Anene on Dec. 21 filed a suit against Airtel for continue disturbances through unsolicited messages to his line. The judge held that the crucial issue that calls for determination here was whether or not that the plaintiff evidence made out a case to justify the claims in the reliefs he sought.

Thirty-five-year-old Thomas Matthew has told a horrific tale of how his father, who he claimed initiated him into an occult group, appeared to him and told him to sacrifice his children to him.
