Abuja
To mark the worlds youth day celebration, the ENGAGE EMPOWER EDUCATE INITIATIVE as part of its pads4all initiative visited the Kuchingoro IDP camp on the 15th of August 2018 and distributed sanitary pads to teenage girls in the camps as well as educated them on menstural hygene., see pictures below

The warm reception from the IDP’S and appreciation of our visit has inspired us to indeed do more.

ABOUT PADS4ALL

The goal of the project is to educate and sensitize female secondary schools girls in rural part of Nigeria on proper menstrual hygiene practices because In Africa young girls will often share their sanitary towels (usually scrap cloth) with their mothers or other women in the household, Of course they wash thoroughly between uses, but venereal diseases can be transmitted through sharing in spite of that. Study shows that most of these underprivileged girls miss schools for days for at least four days each month over menstruation. These issues are not talked about in Africa, due to embarrassment, lack of understanding and low priority of such problems in the face of starvation, violence, illiteracy and many struggles of daily life. The ENGAGE EMPOWER EDUCATE INITIATIVE propose to provide them with sanitary towel, at least one year supply of sanitary towel to 7400 adolescent female students across the 36 state with FCT inclusive in rural part of the country.
