Naval Officers Clash With Nigerian Police In Calaber, Kills Three Police Officers (Photos)


On Tuesday night, officials of the Nigeria Navy clashed with the Nigeria Police in Calabar .The clash resulted in the death of three police officers and a police station set ablaze by rampaging Naval officers‎.


 The clash reportedly started when a police traffic warden stopped a group of Naval officers that reportedly tried to beat the traffic light at a check point opposite the Navy barracks in the Akim area .


A police source confirmed the incident to Channels saying that it followed a clash between some naval officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

According to the source, a misunderstanding happened at a check point opposite the Navy barracks in Akim area of the town.






He said trouble began after a police man stopped a naval officer at Akim police check point but allegedly refused to stop, leading to a shootout.

The Navy reportedly mobilised later this evening and set the police station ablaze.
